Could Have Been Better

This set could have been better. We owned a previous set in which the clothes were just gorgeous and rich. The clothes on these dolls are plain (very VERY plain), the hairstyles could have been better and they didn't put any effort into the accessories. For example Tianna's necklace is painted onto her neck rather than having given her an actual necklace as in previous collections. I wish the box they come in were sturdier and definitely should have been designed to open in the front (like a door) for easier access and storage (by children) rather than from the top like a cereal box.But the dolls are poseable which is nice and it's also nice to have them all in one set.In short it's just okay. Not really sure if my 6 year old will notice all of the things that I find lacking.....Above is my initial review after having received from Disney. We finally got them out of the box and have begun to play with them... To anyone who buys this collection my first words of warning are BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN GETTING DOLLS OUT OF THE BOX! (I had to use special surgical scissors.) The dresses have been fixed to the sides of their little compartment via the use of short plastic T tags like those used in stores to put price tags on clothes. This has caused not 1 or 2 but 4 huge holes in each of the dresses! And unlike with some of the better fabrics, pulling and or massaging did not repair the holes. They are there to stay. (Tianna's dress is of particular poor quality.) The clothes are so awful! --I only thought I didn't like them before. I am very disappointed in Disney. Like I said before, we've owned several of theses dolls separately and another set (of 7) by Mattel. The clothes on our original dolls are so much nicer. Not only are they prettier but they're much better quality and made from better materials. Some of which are 2 years old, been put through the ringer (literally :-) and still look great. I can see these ripping in half the first time my kid tries to undress the dolls.Lets get to the shoes. Now I realize that some doll shoes stay on better than others, but these... Once you remove the clear rubber bands holding them onto the dolls don't ever expect them to stay on again. They're cute though, very fashionable high heels, and Cinderella's do look like glass. (Mulan and Jasmine are in flats so theirs may stay on better than the ones in heels, not really sure because we haven't taken the rubber bans off of them.)One thing that I initially thought was not good turns out is really nice... Their hair. It's super silky, it almost feels like real hair. Rapunzel's is super, SUPER long! So long in fact that I almost wanted to cut it but my daughter refused to let me. So it has been braided and hopefully it will stay that way.All I can say is that I hope Target comes out with a complete set before my littlest one wants her own princesses. I will not be buying these again, even if they are poseable --who cares! It actually makes getting their clothes on and off much more difficult. And honestly more often than not the hands are all twisted into inhumanly possible positions so they just look weird.The 3 durability stars are for the dolls --the clothes get a 0 star rating.

These princess dolls are great. All the Disney princesses and in their correct movie attire. (Barbie princesses have "updated" their attire and don't coincide with the movies as well). All dolls have thick heads of hair, especially Ariel (I wouldn't mind having hair like that!). Arms and wrists are jointed in such a way that they can cross their arms and the dolls can even touch their hands to their mouths (Barbie dolls cannot). All dolls are almost dead on to their movie selfs except the Cinderella doll is made with the "updated design. Also Rapunzel has hair long enough to touch her toes (Barbie has a couple variations of the Rapunzel doll and none have hair as long as this one).The box they come in is even well made and high quality. Each princess stands in front of a scene from their movie and their names printed on the plastic in front of them. I actually kept the box and mounted it on the wall. I cut out a section of the plastic on the case to wear the dolls upper half is exposed and the bottom of each doll the plastic remaining to hold them in place.Overall I am 99% satisfied with this product (1% because of the new style Cinderella).My five year old daughter was ecstatic to open her present and see every princess from her favorite Disney movies! I actually want a set for myself!For her birthday I plan on getting her the matching 10 Disney Princes set!
