The perfect dollhouse

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3KGU11QOBFJ46 I spent a lot of time considering dollhouse options for my three-year-old twins, and when I saw this one, I knew instantly it was PERFECT. It clearly looks like a house (some other brands have architecture that is not very familiar to children); it has open sides that allow lots of access for the little hands of multiple children; the size is perfect (not small, but not hulking), and it is bright and simple and well designed. It even has a lower level that works as a garage and basement. We furnished it with Calico Critters furniture (can't say enough good things about that brand, either -- and the CC car fits perfectly in the "garage") and my kids went crazy for it. Frankly I have as much fun as they do setting up the little scenes! I am completely satisfied with this purchase and am very surprised this is not a more popular dollhouse.Bonus: this was less expensive than many other options and it did not take very long to put together!

Disappointed

We bought one for our 3 year old for Christmas and I just finished putting it together. I had the same issue as another buyer, with misaligned drilling. I almost gave up b/c I bought this thinking it would be an heirloom item and it just looked cheap with spaces between the "floor" and edge of the house since nothing would line up. It took a lot of manipulating the "beams" and floor pieces but I was able to get everything put together properly. It looks really nice and I'm still excited about it, but I now wish I had gone a different route. I really wanted something that could be passed down generations and I'm not sure this is going to cut it. It seems like the hex screws will need repeated tightening and eventually they'll just turn and turn and it won't be a solid product. Considering re-enforcing the house someway but not sure how. I know my little will love it (it really is fun) but for the money (I paid over one-sixty after tax for furnished version) I expected better craftsmanship.
